How long to Read Italian?

Post by Divexo » Sat Aug 21, 2010 1:13 pm

Hi,

I'm about to start the MT course and the Assimil, how high will my reading level of Italian be afterwards?
How far into the courses until i can read a book like 'Alice in Wonderland' in Italian? Or will i need to finish for this?

Here is the e-book to see the level http://www.gutenberg.org/files/28371/28 ... 8371-h.htm

Thank you,

Divexo.

To be honest, I would start with a graded reader before you try to tackle a full blown novel, otherwise the need to constantly refer to a dictionary might be discouraging. There is an excellent series called 'Easy Readers' graded from Level A (easiest) to D (hardest). They're available on Amazon and here is an example:

And can we PLEASE get rid of this dam golfer!

I've just had a look at the US Amazon site and there are a few available - some more expensive than others, but you might find some of interest
