THE PARTICLE CI USED AS A PRONOUN (La particella CI usata come un pronome)
The particle ci is used in a number of ways, one of which is as a pronoun. It is important that you do not confuse its use as such with ci used as a direct object pronoun.
The particle ci is used with a verb that is normally followed by the preposition a (to, of, by). In such cases, ci takes the place of the preposition and the noun or verbal phrase it relates to.
