sta per...

Lui sta per regalarle dei fiori
Lui sta per prendere i fiori
Please correct me if I am wrong. The above sentences are written the way they are.. because regalare and prendere have no (...do) equivalent (i.e. facendo...etc)?

Is the following sentence valid??
Lui sta per fare il bagno

No, that's not the reason they are written like that. It is because this has a quite different meaning. Stare per fare something means to be about to do it/to be on the point of doing it. So "Lui sta per regalarele dei fiori" means "He is about to give her some flowers".

Your following sentence is valid.
