Idioms Using Partire

Postby BillyShears » Fri May 13, 2016 8:02 pm

Buongiorno amici,

Here are some useful idioms using partire from the book Parlo Italiano by Carmen Lizzadro,
Elvira Marinelli, Annalisa Peloso (sold in Italy):

  • La mia macchina non parte. (My car doesn't start.)
  • Se bevo parto subito. (If I drink I become drunk right away.)
  • Questo giradischi è partito. (This record player is broken.)
  • Mi è partito un bottone della giacca. (A button is missing from my jacket.)

Amici,

A better translation for Se bevo parto subito is If I drink one drink (a reference to alcohol of course) goes straight to my head.
