use of "da voi usati"

Post by Rich » Wed Mar 14, 2018 8:56 pm

Hello,

I am having trouble understanding the use of - “da voi usati” in the following sentence:

Ora fate il plurale degli aggettivi da voi usati.
(Now make the plural of the adjectives used by you.)

Is “da voi usati” a passive voice construction?

Why is “da voi” placed before the past participle?

I would have thought that “da voi” would be placed after “usati” as in the following sentence:
Ora fate il plurale degli aggettivi usati da voi.

Can both ways be correct?

I would very, very much appreciate any possible help.

Rich

Hi Rich, I believe either way is equally correct. Certainly I have used da voi after a verb in conversation with Italians, and they have not pulled me up on it.
