Many newer homes in the U.S. have both a "living room" (forse salotto), which is somewhat formal, and a "family room" (forse soggiorno), which is more casually furnished and often includes the television, childrens' games, etc. In brief, the living room is for "show" and the family room is for "use."

Hello, I want to ask about the word "sei", in the online translator it said it meant "sixth", someone who speaks italian told me it meant "yes" which I am sure he confused it with "ci", and another told me it meant "how"...

Sei is "six" in Italian but it also comes from the verb"Essere" which means "to be", it's the second person indicative.

In English it would translate as "you are".

"Sei gentile"="you are kind

If you change the intonation, it can become a question.

"Sei contenta?"=Are you happy?

"Si" means "yes" and "come" means "how".

"Ci" has a lots of different meanings depending on the context, I won't even start to go into that!

Just a couple of suggestions for you. It is probably easier to start a new topic for a question like yours, it makes it easier to find it!

Also, avoid online translators. They are notoriously unreliable!

There are many ways of preparing coffee and as many names to describe them.
Many of them are "cafe set" (the social snobs who spend all day sipping a single coffee just in order to be 'seen') inventions meant to convey an air of "cognizance". (= 'being in the know'.)
Italians are very fond of creating "la bella figura" and being seen to be fashionable and 'with it' is very important to many of them.
This tendency for "style over substance" has, for me, always been one of the less likable aspects of Italian collective behaviour.
I recall once seeing in a Florentine caffè a list of more than twenty option for your caffeine fix, each with its own name and nothing to indicate what it meant.

In Greece when we are reffering to Italian habbits we say "una faccia- una razza"! I ve been having this identify-the-coffee-you-want problem even in greek coffeeshops! But if I were in a friends house how should I ask for a coffee with milk? Or would any of the above work?

Ma, in italianiano forse un caffè con un pò/tanto del latte.
Di solito, si richiesta un caffè normale di avere uno come lo bevano i italiani: piccolo e molto forte.
