Meaning of a Sardinian family name: "Abis"?

Post by flashsonix » Fri Sep 28, 2007 11:48 am

Hello everyone!

I hope that you can help me. I recently met a guy from Italy/Sardinia and he told me that his family name has a special meaning and that I would not be able to find out about that meaning. He told me that only Sardinian people would know the meaning of it. So I placed a bet that I would find out about it.

Please help me find out what the meaning of the family name "Abis" is!

Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards

it seems that your friend doesn't know the origins of his surname:

By the way, my mother-in-law has sicialian origins, I'll ask her if she knows anything about this name.
Ciao.

When a surname ends in "s" it's often Sardinian :) infact, it is.
