My name is Zarac, I'm 15 years old and I'm from Norway. My real name is Erlend (pronounced completely different from how you would say it without any knowledge to scandinavian languages). Erlend(r) means foreigner in norse, and that is what I feel like to italian.

I am really interested in languages and how they work and affect each other. I can speak and write in norwegian (both forms) and english and I would understand danish and swedish and a little german.
I started learning italian some months ago, but it has been hard without any help or guidance. I know all the basics of speaking and writing italian, but I need to expand my vocabulary significant.
I've been to Rome once, with my class. I tried to use their language on a McDonald's, but that didn't turn out very well. I said in a polite way "Prendo una cola, per favore". I don't know if the guy behind the desk was offended or something, but he started yelling and screaming "Speak english, please!", and that was my chance to use what I'd learned.
I hope I get to learn mre italian from this forum and that I will be able to use it a lot more if I ever return to Italy.
