Ciao! Mi chiamo Christine, sono di Perth Western Australia. I am retired and have just taken up Italian as we are travelling to Rome next year. I am trying to learn it on my own. I am finding it a little easier than French but it is still a struggle as I have no one with whom I can speak in Italian.

Ciao Christine e benvenuta. You join a number of other Australians on this forum.

You should be able to pick up a lot of things by going through the Lezioni Gratuite and the Vocab sections. And of course there are plenty of resources on the internet. A good grammar book is a must, particularly one that tests you on what you have read.

In bocca al lupo con i studi :) :)
