un altro nuovo qui

Post by Joe Vannie » Sat Nov 21, 2009 12:28 pm

Ciao, a tutti!

My Italian is execrable so I'll spare you all - for a while at least. I should be heading for a short trip to Rome in April next year and would like to be able to manage on my own without too much 'host dependency' if at all possible. I studied it at Uni for three terms nearly twenty years ago, but to state the obvious, that was a long time ago.

I have a number of dated books here and am thinking of starting with Valgimigli's 'Living Italian.'
I also came across this link -

http://fsi-language-courses.org/Content ... ge=Italian

- which has fifty-one audio cassettes digitized and made available online (they are public domain already). The texts are there, too. I might give 'Italian Fast' a go after Valgimigli. Hopefully, they will be of use to someone here, too, if you haven't seen them already.

Thoughts, comments and suggestions are very welcome.

Sean
